How to Make a Ramen Burger

Ingredients

  • 1 package lean ground beef or ground turkey
  • About 1 tablespoon shoyu (soy sauce) or teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tsp chili pepper flakes
  • Salt/pepper for flavor
  • 1 package ramen noodles per burger
  • 2 eggs(1 per burger and 1 to fry and lay on top of cheese)
  • Ketchup
  • Sriracha sauce (the one with the rooster on it)
  • Arugula
  • Diced greed onion
  • Sautéed red onion, or onion rings
  • 1 tablespoon oil or sesame oil to fry noodle cakes
  • 1 slice cheese

Steps

  1. Take the first five ingredients and mix together in a bowl.  Make 4 hamburger patties. Grill or fry as desired.
  2. Cook the ramen packet as directed, leaving out the flavor packet.Drain noodles.
  3. Whisk the egg and thoroughly coat the noodles.  Separate the noodle in half.  Place one half in one ramekin dish, the other half in a second ramekin dish. Place saran wrap over each dish and press the noodles down with a can of food or another bowl.  Refrigerate for 15 minutes.
  4. Make sriracha sauce by using half sriracha per half ketchup.  Stir.
  5. Carefully place the noodle cakes into a medium/hot pan to make the buns.  Fry until golden brown on both sides.  You have just made your buns.
  6. Fry the egg over easy or over medium.  Time to assemble.
  7. Spread some sriracha ketchup on the bottom half of your bun.  Place a layer of arugula, then the hamburger patty.  Next, put cheese slice, the fried egg, and onions (sauté, chopped green onions, or onion rings).  Stand back and admire your masterpiece.

  • If making more than one or two burgers, use a cookie pan or deep dish to place up to 5 or 6 cooked ramen noodle packs. Simply cook noodles as directed, do not add flavor packet. 1 whipped egg per package of noodles. Pour entire amount of noodle and egg mixture on a cookie pan or a deep dishpan. Spread evenly. Cover with Saran wrap. Use another pan to flatten/press noodles.
