#RunwaytoReality: Anya Hindmarch’s ‘your hair, but better’ look
Hair Tutorial: Anya Hindmarch AW16 LFW Hair Look
We ladies at the beauty desk love little more than a hair do that requires all of five minutes to replicate – we’re all aboard any trend that gives us an extra fifteen minutes in bed. So, yes, Sam McKnight’s mantra for the models at Anya Hindmarch’s LFW show tickled our fancy:
“The whole thing is about the individual – yourself, enhanced. We wanted the girls to have the best version of their own hair be it wavy, curly or straight. The clothes and the set were high tech so we wanted the hair to remain cool and effortless as a contrast. If you’re doing this at home, my advice would be to avoid overkill – don’t add too much product, don’t go mad with curling tongs. It’s all about simplicity.” – Sam McKnight for L’Oréal Professional.
It really is that easy – the trick to getting this look is to just take your hair’s natural texture and ramp it up a notch. For me, this meant taking my slightly unruly hair and adding wave and movement with the some pointers courtesy of Jonny Engstrom at Guy Kremer Salon for L’Oréal Professionnel…
Get The Look in Five Steps:
1) Prep hair. Jonny reminded me that even if your hair is dry, adding a little mousse will hold the style and help to add texture (I used L’Oreal Professionnel Spiral Queen Nourishing Mousse).
2) Starting at the front, twist a section of hair and blast with a hairdryer, working your way around your head until all your hair has been twisted and dried.
3) Use your fingers to brush out the twisted portions.
